Have you ever considered this for your health?
I cried about this to a group of people.
Listen to this post here.
I was in a room of women, and we were listing our desires for expansion. This desire was my number one wish.
I don’t want my rash to just go away, I told them.
I want my body to feel safe. I know, once that happens, the rash will disappear.
(In case you missed the news: my once year-long face rash that I thought was gone for good has now, in fact, returned.)
I used to think health was a binary system.
Healthy? No symptoms.
Sick, or something is off? Symptoms.
Easy. Straightforward. Makes sense.
But what if there’s more to your health story? What if symptoms might actually be a sign that your body is recalibrating, upleveling, or expanding?
What if a “healing crisis” isn’t actually a crisis, but instead your body’s way of pushing things up and out that don’t fit with your new level of being?
That has always been the case for me.
The first time my rash came out of nowhere, I met a guy. That guy is now my husband.
This time, we bought a house. And I’m out of the closet, so to speak, blending my love of health & nutrition with my love of energy. I’ve never felt – or expressed myself publically online – more me.
I used to think my rash was a one-off. Now, I know better.
This is a pattern (I love patterns), and it cannot be ignored:
When big, beautiful, amazing things happen and my body doesn’t feel safe (yet) in the expansion, she talks to me in a way I cannot miss: a rash on my face.
Let’s go deeper:
The first time I had my rash? My GI-MAP showed Candida (yeast), dysbiosis, parasites, and poor digestion. This time, the jury is still out. I just completed another GI-MAP and am (anxiously) awaiting the results.
Your skin health is a direct reflection of your gut health, and it is always the #1 place I advise clients to look when skin issues arise.
This comes as no surprise, because energetically, gut health & digestion is linked to how well you digest your life.
Can you allow in and synthesize the good (nutrients)?
Can you sort through what’s important and what isn’t (what nutrients go where, blocking pathogens from entering your blood stream, etc.)?
Can you let go when needed (detoxing, aka 💩)?
Your – and my – symptoms are physical and energetic. You have to look at both.
And when you do, you might discover: your symptoms are, at least in part, a sign that something is going right.
When you consider this side of symptomology, symptoms can no longer be bad, wrong, or a sign that your body is broken or failing you. Symptoms become neutral, a simple sign that your body needs something, and is trying to get your attention.
It’s my job to help you decipher your body’s message, and, in doing so, help your body heal.
In my new role as a Certified Functional Nutrition Practitioner (CFNP) at Anna Brown Health, I specialize in gut health, hormone imbalances, skin issues, and nervous system health, looked at through the lens of physical and energetic wellness. Aka: what does the data tell us about your symptoms, and what is happening at the layers of self we cannot see?
As a CFNP, I offer nutrition consulting, advanced lab testing, and energy medicine sessions. My existing Energy Medicine practice (Sofia Adler Wellness) is also still alive and well, and you can access that here.
Remember: your symptoms might be a sign that something good is happening. Your body is one smart cookie.
