I was pretty good, for a while.
Going with the flow, letting opportunities come to me, riding the wave of life.
Then, I started to track a familiar pattern: my (desperate?) need to be in control.
I realized I was back to being a control monster this week when I found myself feeling anxious, afraid, and frankly, behaving in a kind of manic fashion.
It showed up in my work as a not-so-subtle drive to make things happen NOW and my inner critic telling me I am the problem, causing a flood of shame around a more spacious calendar.
When I’m a control monster, I don’t just try to control my surroundings. I try to control myself, too.
I’m familiar enough with my own bullshit at this point however that I simply tracked what was coming up for me and brought it to my energy session.
And you want to know what spirit did?
Spirit brought me a snake.
(Have I ever mentioned that I really, really dislike snakes?)
Specifically, the Egyptian Cobra Goddess Wadjet came through. And funnily enough, I remember meeting her at some point in the past.
Wadjet brought forward the visualization of a cobra waiting to pounce. Instead of just attacking, or moving about manically as I was, a cobra stays still, almost hovering a place. They track their prey, and then BAM— they strike.
I shivered, but I got the message.
Wadjet reminded me of the power in being still, taking your time, and acting with confidence and precision. There is no self doubt when a cobra goes in for the kill.
This session was yesterday. Today, I showed up to work as a new person.
